Access Audits

An access audit is an inspection of service, environment or buildings to check whether they are accessible for all. We can conduct a complete and concise access audit from the point of transport, approaches to buildings, entrances, toilets ect. Audits are judged against predetermined standards to determine best practice.
We can conduct the following type of audits:
- Comprehensive audit – A thorough inspection of the service and environment, assessing a range of issues. The audit includes a report (containing photographs) that outlines the current situation and makes recommendations for improvements to increase accessibility and best practice where necessary.
- Walk and talk audit – Consists of a discussion between the clients and/ or staff and the auditor, on site at the client’s premises. It provides the opportunity to identify key access problems and explore possible solutions. Notes summarising the “walk and talk” discussion are provided after the visit. Walk and talk audits are suitable for small businesses and organisations with limited budgets.
Some of the organisations we have conducted audits for are:
- St Helens MBC
- Helena Housing
- Liverpool Cardiothoracic Centre
- St Helens College

You can also obtain them via mail at a cost of £4.50 each. Please send a cheque or postal order made payable to DASH to the address found on our contact page.
Braille

DASH offers a Braille translation service. We understand that Braille readers require and appreciate a high quality document and as such that document should be a first class production.
We make use of Braille production technology and offer a layout and design that is widely accepted by the Braille reader. The costing for this service is done on an individual basis.
